EECS Project Officially Launched
2009-06-16
The European Connectivity Solution (EECS) Project was officially launched at the annual conference of the European Campus Card Association held at the Radisson Hotel London Stansted on June 8th 2009.
All consortium partners met and held a kick off meeting to plan out the next few months work for work package 2 & 3. The EECS website was also launched.
The launch provided the EECS consortium with an excellent opportunity to progress with work on Work Package 2 (WP2). WP2 involves market researching the campus card market . As our target market of universities was attending the ECCA conference, we distributed questionnaires among these universities. The information from this will help us to later recommend and create standards for a standardised European Campus Card.
A presentation on the EECS Project was made to all attendees at the conference informing them of the EECS project and its future benefits to Higher Education Institutions. The EECS website was also showcased and an EECS stand was set up at the conference where the questionnaires were distributed and where further information on the EECS project could be obtained.
The EECS launch was a huge success with many companies and institutions showing great interest in the Projects outcome. The launch of the Project at the ECCA conference allowed us to expose the EECS solution to a mass target audience.
